February is the month of love. I felt a lot of love this month- my heart literally was smiling most of the time. Most days when my son was napping, or he was at daycare, I spent on my computer either making my scrapbooks, or looking through old photos and videos to burn to DVD. In the background I put on my old home videos from when I was a kid which was just another thing to make me smile.
The biggest thing I took away from watching these home videos is that we may always think we are cooler than our parents, but we will eventually be proven very wrong. We all end up in Mom jeans, Dad's end up with facial hair and wearing stupid hats sitting behind bars, we all laugh at our kids expense, and try to remember how cool we were in our 20's. It's all the same- but so much fun I don't think any of us would change a thing.
On the computer end of things, which was the majority of my work this month- I of course had technical difficulties that slowed my progress. I only managed to get my videos from before Kit onto DVD (that was still something). So I still have what I would say is the majority of my videos to burn. The hardest part of a project like backing up files onto DVD, is getting started. So now that I have a system and a plan for my videos and photos, and have at least begun to long process, I hope to slowly pick away at it over the next few months. Maybe I can get caught up before summer time and all the business that that will bring! (insert "ya right" laughter here).
As the month went along and I was sidelined a bit on the computer front, a few other personal matters came about, and it was a bit more of an emotional rollercoaster. My Grandpa Ken passed away at the age of 81 (for those who follow along the website, I wrote about him a bit during the paper month WMWT). He was an avid birder, family man, and all around wonderful human. He always had a smile for me, a joke, and was supportive beyond belief. I had so much fun with him throughout my life, I'm thankful that I get to remember those happy times with him and my Gramma.

For all of you Grandparents out there, I hope you enjoy your Grandkids like he did. He was always present; taking us on adventure walks, colouring, playing barbies, building cool things, swimming or just talking with us. I know that every single moment he was with me, that is exactly where he wanted to be. One of my home videos even showed him (and Gramma and mom- but he was the surprising one to me) on our basement floor doing my entire dance warm-up stretching routine, just because I said "let's try this". Now THAT is love haha.
February was also below normal temperatures around here (and a lot of places from what I see on the news) so most days had to be spent inside. I think Kit and I got outside twice, maybe three times, where normally I make a point of going out almost every day. F%$*ING FREEZING! So my creativity and patience was once again tested under these conditions. Thanks winter...challenge accepted and for the most part... "killed it"!

So onwards into Spring (PLEASE), March, and my glue themed month. Hoping for some more energy myself, and patiently awaiting the arrival of my nephew!
Much Love, SP
